Q: What are Powdered Brows?

A: Powdered Brows is the method where we shade in a majority of the brow to create a soft,

diffused powdered look.  This is for a more bold look, but still, soft looking once healed and is a

good technique for clients who have sparse to little natural hair. This technique is good for all skin types and

is great for clients who like to fill their brows in on a daily basis.

Q: What is a lash enhancer?

A: Lash Enhancer, also known as Eyeliner, is when pigment is tattooed directly on the last line for a very natural result. this differs from an "eyeliner" technique because it is much thinner. I'm sorry, but I  do not offer thick or winged liner.

Q: Is it a real tattoo?

A: Yes. Permanent Make-Up is a real tattoo, done with a tattoo machine,

tattoo needles, and cosmetic pigments.

Q:  How long will does it last? Will I need touch-ups?

A: Depending on the individual, micro brows will last about 1.5 - 3 years. Powdered Brows and Eyelash Enhancers last around 2-5 years. Permanent Make-Up is a technique that involves implanting pigments into the top layer of the skin called the epidermis. since the epidermis renews itself every 3 years or so, the deposited pigment will eventually fade out if no touch up is done.  Genetics, skin type, skin-care regimen, sun exposure, and active lifestyle, are some factors that contribute to this. A touch-up every 12-18 months is recommended to keep brow looking it's best.

Q: How come some say it's permanent and some say it's semi-permanent?

A: Tattooing your brows are permanent in the sense that we are implanting pigments into your skin, which contain microscopic particles of metal, into your skin. Over time, the pigment will fade and no longer be visible

(which is why some label it as "semi-permanent") but the metals will always remain.

Q: Are new needles used?

A: YES! I use a one-time-use, needle for each client which are individually wrapped with a lot number and expiration date.  All needles remain sealed until we start your procedure.

Q:  How long is the appointment?

A:  About 2.5 hours with most of the time spent on the consultation where we create your desired brow shape together. Numbing is about 25 minutes and the procedure is about 40 minutes long.

Touch ups are about 1.5 hours.

Q:  Will you draw in the shapes first?

A:  Yes. I won't start your procedure until you are satisfied with the shape I draw on and we agree that both brows look as symmetrical as possible. Please note that no face is absolutely symmetrical, so it is impossible to have absolutely symmetrical brows! With a bit of measuring and a lot of artistry, I do try my very best to make your brows as identical as I can to compliment your facial structure and enhance your features.

Q: Will you need to shave my brows off before the procedure?

A: No.  I am able to work over your natural brows. Also, It is not necessary to have your brows shaped, waxed, or threaded prior to your appointment. If needed, I will clean around your brows with a disposable brow shaver and/or trim your brows before the procedure.

Q: Can I have lash extensions if I am getting a Lash Enhancer(Eyeliner)?

A: No, absolutely no lash extensions allowed the day of your appointment and please do not reapply lash extensions

for a minimum of 4 weeks after your initial appointment. Also, keep in mind that if you would like a

touch-up, you cannot have extensions in, so please plan your lash appointments accordingly.

Q:  Does it hurt? Will you numb me?

A:  Each person’s pain threshold is different, allowing some to tolerate more pain than others.

Also, each person's chemistry is different and will respond to anesthetics differently too. With the application

of a topical anesthetic, for brows,  most clients experience little to no pain during the procedure.

For a few others, the pain can be likened to having your eyebrows plucked, or lightly scratched.

Eyeliner is definitely a more uncomfortable experience, but every client I have done says it is

completely worth it!  I want you to have a pleasant experience, so I will check with you

throughout the procedure to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

I do encourage communication so that I know what your comfort level is at all times.

Q: How will I look immediately after my appointment?

A: For brows: very few clients will experience any redness and swelling after their appointment,

but most clients look as if they have just gotten their brows waxed then filled in with a dark (shaded) brow pencil.

You will be able to resume your normal daily activities immediately after the procedure is performed.

For liner: most clients will experience mild to moderate swelling immediately after the procedure

up until the next day. Ibuprofen and a cold compress will help take the swelling down.

Q:  How long does it take to heal?

A:  The initial healing period is about 7-10 days but in my opinion, healing isn’t

considered complete until about 6 -8 weeks after the initial procedure.

Our skin undergoes many phases and results will constantly change until all phases are complete.

Also, please note that it is normal for brows to feel bruised and tender up to 2 months following your procedure.

Q:  Can I get them wet, swim or work out?

A: You can get them wet when your shower but please, no swimming as we do not

want to soak the brows in water. Although a gentle wash a couple times a day with soapy water is suggested.

Also, refrain from any kind of excessive sweating for at least one week. Sweat purges the pigment out

and the natural salt in sweat may prevent the pigment from holding. These guidelines help to retain the

maximum amount of pigment that has been implanted. Most importantly, refrain from picking the scabs off prematurely and allow the scabs to fall off naturally. PATIENCE IS KEY!

I will review healing procedures with you at your appointment.

Q: Is it okay to get a tattoo if I am pregnant or nursing my baby?

A: No! If you are pregnant, think you are pregnant, or you are nursing your baby, please do not get

permanent makeup! There are ingredients in the anesthetic as well as metal in the pigments I use

that will travel through your bloodstream and are not good for your precious baby!

Q: Do I really need a follow-up appointment?

A: A follow-up appointment is not mandatory but is highly suggested for optimum results. It gives you better coverage that will allow your brows to last longer, and will also give us a chance to perfect your brows and make any enhancements if need be.
